Kristie Benaitis pins a Sergeant badge on her husband, Mark Benaitis, during a recent promotion ceremony at City Hall. Sergeant Mark Benaitis began his career in 1997 and is a 17 year veteran of the Department. During his tenure Officer Benaitis has held the position of: Juvenile Officer / Field Training Officer / Detective / Patrol Officer In Charge / as well as an assignment to the Immigration Customs Enforcement Task Force where his investigations generated significant revenue for the Department through forfeiture seizures / With his partner Oscar – Ofc. Benaitis was the first K-9 Officer for the Hickory Hills Police Department.
